No injuries as SUV crashes into woods by Lake Lanier in Cumming
crash

CUMMING — Traffic on Ga. 400 north was reduced to one lane for about 45 minutes Monday after a driver left the road just north of where the highway crosses Lake Lanier.

According to the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office, the incident happened about noon between Exits 15 and 16. The driver told deputies she lost control of the sport utility vehicle after a tire blew.

The car left the road and went down an embankment, travelling more than 150 feet before getting wedged against several trees.

None of the three people in the SUV, including a small child in a safety seat, reported injuries.

As it turned out, the vehicle came to rest about 75 feet from Pilgrim Mill Circle, so a tow truck removed it by dragging it out to that road instead of back up to 400.
