LAKE LANIER -- Forsyth and Hall County marine units have called off a search for a missing person in the water at Three Sisters Island on Lake Lanier.

The apparent boating accident happened just before 6 p.m. Saturday, though there has been no confirmation the incident resulted in a fatality, according to the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office.

A dive team from Hall County and the Forsyth County Fire Department was searching for a male, officials said, and Forsyth County marine units have been assisting.

Hall County Fire Services Marine Rescue personnel searched for an hour before calling the search, according to Hall County Fire Services Capt. Zachary Brackett.

One diver suffered an injury during the search and was transported to Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville, and was in good condition, according to Brackett.

Though the incident reportedly occurred in Forsyth, a media staging area was set up at Holiday Marina, which is in Hall.

The incident is also being investigated by the Georgia Department of Natural Resources.
