A 45-year-old Dahlonega man was killed Saturday night when his motorcycle was struck by a sport utility vehicle on Hwy. 53 near the Forsyth-Hall County line.

According to the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office, the collision threw Sidney Paul Agent Jr. from the motorcycle and into the side of the SUV.

Agent was flown to Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta, where he later died.

The wreck occurred about 6 p.m. near Chestatee Heights Road, according to Sheriff’s Investigator Ron Tomblin.

Tomblin said Agent was traveling west on a 1978 Harley-Davidson Low Rider motorcycle when a 2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer turned left into his path on Hwy. 53.

The driver of the Trailblazer, 41-year-old Jimmy Darrell Barnett Jr. of Murrayville, was not injured in the wreck.

His passenger, 39-year-old Melody Cowart, also of Murrayville, was treated for minor injuries at Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville, according to the sheriff’s office.

Tomblin said alcohol, drugs and speed do not appear to be factors in the collision.

No charges have been filed and the investigation is ongoing.
