Teen dead, two injured in multi-car crash in north Forsyth
Spot Road crash

An 18-year-old male from Cumming is dead and two others were injured after being involved in a three-car wreck Friday afternoon on Spot Road in north Forsyth.

The crash occurred around 4:30 p.m. on July 14 at the intersection with Twin Lakes Road, which is directly across from Sawnee Mountain Visitor Center, according to Cpl. Pete Sabella, a spokesman for the sheriff's office.

"When deputies arrived, they determined a white 2010 Mercedes SUV, being driven by a 17-year-old female from Suwanee, collided with a white 2005 Honda Accord, driven by an 18-year-old male from Cumming," he said. "The Honda slid sideways into the path of a westbound green Nissan Pathfinder.

"The Pathfinder, driven by a 22-year-old male from Dahlonega, also had a front seat passenger, a 37-year-old male from Cumming. The occupants of the Pathfinder were transported to area hospitals with non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the Honda died on scene."

It was not immediately known what caused the crash, though the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Specialist Unit is investigating. TSU is called out for fatal wrecks or crashes with serious injury.

Charges may be issued pending the outcome of the investigation.

Sabella said the names of those involved are being withheld until extended family members have be notified.
