SOUTH FORSYTH – A 16-year-old pedestrian who was hit by a car near the Publix on Old Atlanta Road Thursday evening was taken to the hospital with what appeared to be non-life threatening injuries.
The girl was near the grocery store at Windermere Parkway and Mathis Airport Parkway in south Forsyth when a passenger car hit her shortly after 7 p.m. May 4, according to Deputy Doug Rainwater, a spokesman for the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office.
“She was conscious, alert and didn’t appear to have broken bones but was transported [to the hospital,]” he said.
Three deputies, the Forsyth County Fire Department and an ambulance worked the scene.
It was not immediately known what the extent of her injuries were or how the incident occurred.
The sheriff’s office traffic specialist unit, or TSU, which investigates serious crashes, was not called to the scene.
