Pedestrian struck crossing Ga. 400 early Monday dies
emergency

DAWSONVILLE — A pedestrian struck by a vehicle Monday morning as he attempted to cross Ga. 400 in Dawson County has died, officials said.

Georgia State Patrol spokeswoman Robin Stone said Timothy Kenneth Mullinax, 45, of Dahlonega died at Northeast Georgia Medical Center from injuries suffered in the collision, which occurred about 6:30 a.m.

"The victim's car was broken down. He had actually lost a tire and was walking across 400 when he was hit by a truck," she said.

The driver of the truck, 24-year-old Michael Tyler Cleveland of Cumming, will not be charged, according to Stone.

"Mr. Mullinax was about 300 feet south of the intersection of Dawson Forest Road in the northbound lane, so he was not in the crosswalk," she said.
