A group of firefighters eats lunch at Jerzey Boyz pizza on Wednesday. The restaurant is donating part of the profits from the day to a firefighter battling Cancer.

A local eatery will donate proceeds from today's sales to help a Forsyth County firefighter in his battle with cancer.

Jersey Boyz Pizza on Bethelview Road has agreed to give 15 percent of its sales to help Mark Aycock pay medical bills for treatment he is receiving for stage 4 colon cancer.

Patrick Apoian, an Atlanta police officer and member of Humble Heroes, said he will also be coming by the restaurant to collect donations on behalf of the organization.

“We put this together and hopefully we should have a good turnout,” Apoian said.

Humble Heroes is designed to provide support to firefighters, police officers and other public safety officials after they have been injured or fallen seriously ill.

Apoian said donations may also be made via check or money order to Mark Aycock c/o Humble Heroes, P.O. Box 170259, Atlanta, GA 31117.
