FORSYTH COUNTY -- With Halloween behind us, the American Red Cross is urging the public to not get too wrapped up in the upcoming holidays to give blood.
Over the next two weeks, the organization is holding several blood donation events in Forsyth County and metro Atlanta to make up for an expected dip in donations around the holidays.
“Someone’s mother, brother, sister, father or the love of someone’s life has been given back to their loved ones all because I gave something that I could,” blood donor Katie Osorio said in a news release. “It takes so little from me and gives a world back to another.”
Donors are encouraged to make appointments and complete a health history questionnaire at Redcrossblod.org/rapidpass.
Appointments can also be made at Redcross.org or on the Red Cross Blood Donor app.
