It won’t be official business, but a couple Forsyth County commissioners are expected to speak during Saturday’s Republican Women of Forsyth County breakfast.
The gathering takes the place of the club’s regular monthly meeting, which is typically held on a Tuesday night.
"Commissioners, generally because of their own meetings can’t attend our regular meetings," said president Peggy Green.
"So we like to do this once a year and get an update from them on what’s going on in our county."
Green said she expects commissioners to discuss various topics, including a projected budget shortfall and the Lanier Golf Course rezoning, as well as share park updates.
The event is open to the public and anyone who wants to know "the status of our budget, where we are and how the county is doing."
"The public … is encouraged to come if they have questions for their commissioners," Green said. "[Commissioners] usually open up and answer a lot of questions."
