A Forsyth County woman reported missing earlier this week was spotted at a Dahlonega retailer on Thursday, authorities say, before quickly vanishing again.

Forsyth County Sheriff’s Capt. Tim House said Felicia Williamson Lane was seen about 11 a.m. Thursday at Walmart in Dahlonega.

“Our investigators have confirmed that it was her, but we in law enforcement and her family have not spoken to her or heard from her yet,” House said Friday.

“We are still considering it an active missing person case until we hear from her.”

Sheriff’s Investigator Jason Soles said Lane, 40, was reported missing Monday morning.

Soles said Lane’s husband and 19-year-old daughter last saw her at about 6 p.m. Nov. 26, when the two left the family’s Kemp Drive home.

Lane’s husband tried to call her cell phone about 30 minutes later and she didn’t answer. He then came home and she was gone.

Soles said Lane apparently left with her Jack Russell terrier, a bag of dog food, credit card, camping gear and enough provisions to last her about six days. Her cell phone was found at the house.

Lane, who is considered an outdoors expert, is described as 5 feet 4 inches tall with dark hair.

She drives a burgundy 1998 Jeep Wrangler with a black hard top, oversized tires and chrome rims, Soles said.

The tag number of the vehicle is BRE5957. On the spare tire cover, there is a snake and the phrase “Don’t tread on me.”

Soles said she frequents the Dawson Forest and Chattahoochee Wildlife management areas.

Authorities do not suspect foul play, but Soles said the family is concerned because Lane did not tell anyone she was leaving.
