Second fire damages south Forsyth home

For the second time in four months, fire has damaged a Chattahoochee River Club home.

No one was injured in Wednesday morning’s blaze.

Authorities said the house, which is unoccupied, was the site of a fire in early April that claimed the life of the homeowner.

Forsyth County Fire Capt. Jason Shivers said the Woodbury Creek Drive home has since “transferred ownership.”

Wednesday’s fire was reported by a neighbor about 1:30 a.m., Shivers said.

The neighbor said there was a fire in the garage and the upper loft area above it.

“The fire had spread some, resulting in moderate structure damage,” Shivers said. “The home has been undergoing renovations to repair the fire damages from the previous fire.

“We’re not drawing conclusions, but there was nothing to indicate suspicious activity or foul play.”
