After a successful first year, Forsyth County Senior Services Healthy Aging and Fitness Fair returns Tuesday for the second annual event.
The free event offers important health information for adults 50 and older at the Sexton Hall Enrichment Center off of Sharon Road.
Attendees can enjoy fruit and take advantage of health screenings, wellness information, chair massage and reflexology and exercise demonstrations.
Senior services director Michael Bohn said the department is “excited” to offer the fair again this year.
“Those in attendance will have the opportunity to obtain a variety of valuable wellness information,” Bohn said.
Brian Blasick, senior service specialist and wellness coordinator, said more than half of last year’s vendors will return Tuesday, thanks to the “great turnout” in the inaugural event.
He said it’s no surprise the community welcomed the senior services offerings in great numbers.
“We’re providing health services to our seniors at no cost—it’s free—and they get a chance to get a lot of wellness information,” Blasick said. “It’s a nice little summer reminder of the importance of health and nutrition and wellness.”
Several vendors and agencies that work with Forsyth County senior services will attend and many will offer demonstrations or health screenings.
The screenings available will check balance, blood pressure, glucose and hearing. Exercise demonstrations will include Tai Chi and yoga.
