A portion of Shiloh Road will be closed to through traffic about 1,500 feet northeast of McFarland Parkway starting Wednesday.
The road could be shut down until December while contractors replace a corrugated metal pipe under Shiloh Road.
A detour route will be provided using McFarland Parkway, Old Alpharetta Road, Shiloh Road East and Meadow Lane.
According to Communications Director Jodi Gardner, the structure collapsed from last month's heavy rains.
"This needs to be replaced in the interest of public safety," Gardner said Friday.
