Former Forsyth County lawmaker appointed to Gov.-elect Brian Kemp’s executive office senior staff

Former Forsyth County state Rep. Mark Hamilton was announced on Monday as one of 14 senior staff members to Gov.-elect Brian Kemp’s executive office.

Hamilton will be the director of external affairs.

Hamilton became a high-ranking Republican at the Capital during his time representing District 24 from 2007-15.

A former entrepreneur, Hamilton served as chairman of the House Industry and Labor Committee among other various leadership positions.

Hamilton had been away from politics since leaving his District 24 post in 2015 to take a job in Tennessee in the private sector.
