SOUTH FORSYTH – A large law enforcement presence, including a Forsyth County SWAT team, is responding to a residence in south Forsyth after a man who may be armed barricaded himself in a home.

Gwinnett County police reportedly were attempting to serve a warrant on the man at the home on Hartsfield Place, which is in the Olde Atlanta Golf Club, Wednesday night when he barricaded himself inside, according to Deputy Epifanio Rodriguez, a spokesman for the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office.

Forsyth’s SWAT unit and a number of other law enforcement units are at the scene, which remains active.

Rodriguez said it is unknown whether anyone else is inside the home and that the man is “possibly armed.”

It was not immediately clear for what charge Gwinnett was serving a warrant.

As of now, he said, the situation poses no danger to neighbors or the community.
