Two crashes occurred Monday afternoon as a storm rolled through Forsyth County, though neither resulted in serious injuries.

The first wreck, which occurred around 2 p.m. May 1, temporarily shut down the southbound side of Ga. 400 in north Forsyth after a man reportedly ran a red light and T-boned another car.

“The [adult female] was turning left from Jot Em Down Road onto Ga. 400 north when an [adult male] going south from Dawsonville car runs the red light and T-bones her,” said Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Patrick Sternik. “Both refused transport and only suffered minor injuries, which were mainly bruises.”

The man was cited for running a red light.

The second crash, Sternik said, happened around 2:45 p.m. on Buford Highway (Hwy. 20) at its intersection with Trammel Road.

Both drivers were heading east on Hwy. 20 when one stopped for traffic. Sternik said the vehicle behind her was following too closely and rear-ended the car in front of her.

The woman driving the car that was hit was transported to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
