The Republican Women of Forsyth County will present a discussion with a U.S. Senate candidate at noon Monday in Norman’s Landing Restaurant.

District 1 U.S. Rep. Jack Kingston, who represents a 17-county area of southeast Georgia that includes the coastline, is seeking the U.S. Senate post being vacated by Saxby Chambliss.

Julie Tressler, president of the Republican Women, said the group hopes to hear from all of the Senate hopefuls before the May 20 primary.

“There are quite a few good candidates in that race and we’re just doing our best to give our membership an opportunity to hear from all of them so they can make an informed decision when they vote,” she said.

While the lunch meeting is open to the public, Tressler said those planning to attend should register online at www.rwfc.org and plan to pay for their meal.

She said Kingston will present a speech followed by a question-and-answer period with the audience.

The restaurant is at 365 Peachtree Pkwy.
