Vehicle strikes trees after driver attempts burnouts in north Forsyth

NORTH FORSYTH -- Two were taken to the hospital Tuesday after the driver of a Ford lost control of his truck in north Forsyth while trying to do burnouts, officials said.

Around 11:15 p.m. Tuesday night, the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office and Fire Department responded to the area of Hurt Bridge Road and Carder Lane regarding a single vehicle crash, according to Cpl. Pete Sabella, a spokesman for the sheriff’s office.

When deputies arrived, they determined a white 2010 Ford Super Duty pickup truck had “attempted to spin the tires which resulted in the driver losing control of the vehicle.”

“The vehicle accelerated into the roadway and began to rotate in a clock-wise direction [but] came to a stop after striking several trees in the northbound shoulder. Both the driver and passenger were transported to an area hospital,” Sabella said.

The crash remains under investigation.
