A construction worker died Thursday morning after he was pinned between a tree and a piece of heavy equipment in a south Forsyth neighborhood, authorities said.

Forsyth County Deputy Coroner Nickie Stockel identified the man as Jeffery Lee McGhee, 45, of Drew Campground Road.

The body was sent to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation’s crime lab for an autopsy.

The accident was reported about 11:19 a.m. Thursday.

Forsyth County Fire Capt. Jason Shivers said emergency personnel were called to a cul de sac on Bramble Bush Way in the Turnberry subdivision off James Burgess Road.

Shivers said McGhee apparently went over the edge of an embankment in a skid-steer loader.

It appeared he was pinned in the loader by a fallen tree.

Shivers said the incident was reported to the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, which sent investigators to the scene.
