WEST FORSYTH -- Two drivers sustained non-life-threatening injuries in a two-vehicle wreck Tuesday afternoon near the Cherokee-Forsyth county line.

Just before rush hour traffic began to pick up, a truck hauling a flatbed trailer collided with an Xfinity utility van on Canton Highway (Hwy. 20) at Heardsville Road.

According to Epifanio Rodriguez, a spokesman for the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office, the two adult drivers were the only occupants of the vehicles. They both suffered injuries, but those did not appear to be life threatening.

Emergency units were called to free the trapped driver of the van, Rodriguez said.

The incident caused a second collision between two motorcycles.

Rodriguez said neither of those drivers was injured.

The road remained closed for some time, and drivers were asked to avoid the area if possible.
