A Forsyth County man has been taken into custody by local authorities and charged with allegedly having inappropriate contact with a minor via the internet.
Ryan Taylor McMullen, 24, was arrested by the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office on Monday, Dec. 23, following an investigation into allegations that he had inappropriate contact with a minor in 2018.
According to sheriff’s office spokesman Cpl. Doug Rainwater, earlier this year detectives were notified by an out-of-state law enforcement agency that McMullen allegedly “transmitted inappropriate pictures of himself to an underage person” in their jurisdiction in September 2018.
McMullen had previously been arrested in Forsyth County in 2017 for similar charges, according to Rainwater. Detectives began investigating these new allegations and found probable cause for his arrest.
The sheriff’s office has charged McMullen with computer crime illegal solicitation and sexual exploitation of children.
He is being held in the Forsyth County Jail under no bond.
