Bullying problem worsens each year for youngsters

Forsyth County News
I’ve recently read a story that absolutely horrified me. The story was that of Carl Joseph Walker Hoover.

For those who haven’t heard of him, Carl Joseph was an 11-year-old boy who hung himself with an extension cord because he was bullied by the other children at school. Carl endured endless anti-homosexual re-marks, when he himself didn’t identify as homosexual.

This to me is absolutely insane, because the fact of the matter is that each year it gets worse and worse.

Each year through maybe 7th or 8th grade we watch a video concerning bullying in general, and that’s really about it. A single video. How are we expected to mature and know that this is not right, when those who are being bullied don’t feel like anyone’s even going to do anything about it.

Parents and teachers, please please talk to your children about this extreme matter. Every year it gets worse and nobody seems to be doing anything about it. Let’s take this unfortunate circumstance and learn from it.
