Both of these men indicate in their letters they were. Pay the fine and quit complaining. It’s called accountability and the lack thereof is at the root of everything that is wrong with America today, i.e. our mortgage crisis and the carnival that is going on in Washington.
There’s always an explanation of why someone did the wrong thing and how the circumstances caused them to do the wrong thing, but never an acceptance that they did the wrong thing. Accountability.
