Community shows strong support for deputies in military

Forsyth County News
Just before Christmas 2009, the FCSO Reinforcements, a small group of volunteers from the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office, decided to show support for our deputies deployed with the armed services to Iraq and Afghanistan by sending care packages to them and their platoon mates.

We enlisted help from the community, and as you can imagine in this great county, we had a terrific response, with hundreds of items donated.

Thankfully, all but one of our deputies has made it home safely. Deputy First Class Josh Bell remains in Iraq and is scheduled to be home early next year. We have received enough items to ship him and his fellow soldiers several care packages.

Thank you so much to everyone in Forsyth County and Cumming businesses, civic groups, churches, subdivisions, and individuals who thought enough of our guys to donate both items and money. Thanks to you, we were able to send them a small gesture of your appreciation, as well as a glimpse of hope and home. It is all of you that make Forsyth County such a great place to live, work, and play.

We, and our deputies, cannot thank you all enough!
