Please put the county first, new leaders

Forsyth County News
When are county commissioners going to get it ... you serve the people of this county not your own selfish, childish ways.

Linda Ledbetter had a chance to do something she has lacked since being elected a commissioner, act with dignity. Instead of bowing out graciously and thanking the citizens of this county she has to throw in her last tantrum about not getting her way. How quick she forgets that when first elected she was part of the majority who got their way without kicking and screaming.

All that is left of that team is Mr. Tam, who got a great deal on a restaurant site for him and his wife at who knows what expense to the voters who trust him.

I ask that our new commissioners learn from the childlike antics of their predecessors and put the county first when looking at the issues. This is a great county with a lot of potential that has yet to be tapped due to all of the bickering, name calling and tantrum throwing we have had to put up with the last four years.

Mr. Laughinghouse, you are not excused either. It’s time to act like a representative of this county and not the supreme ruler (leave that to the Mayor). 2009 will be a challenging year for everybody — let’s work together to make up for the last four years of ineptitude and disarray.
