My elementary school-aged boys just got off the bus drenched in sweat. This is not the first time and won't be the last time until the weather gets cooler.
They usually can put the windows down, which barely helps, but today it was raining so that wasn't an option.
Even with the windows down, the seats are so high that the kids don't get a breeze from it, but it does at least keep the air moving on the bus.
Forsyth County Schools, it is completely irresponsible to put our children on un-air-conditioned buses in the South in early August.
If you are going to start school so early, you need to make sure all buses are properly air-conditioned.
I know it's a big expense, but it has to be done. It's a true safety issue when it's still this hot and humid outside.
