Although I hold a degree in journalism from the University of Georgia, I make no claim to literary luminosity. I am extremely proud of Forsyth County schools. However, there are several words and phrases which I am certain are degrading our English language such as:
“What do you got”
“That is a great question”
“My bad”
“Awesome.”
“At the end of the day”
“Veggies”
“Needless to say”
“That being said”
“Is it cold enough for you”
“Are you working hard or hardly working”
If just one teacher could persuade just one student to avoid the use of just one of the inanities it could be the first step in rejuvenating good English.
