Stop signs ignored by all

Whatever happened to the move to remove the stop signs at the intersection of Werrington Drive and North Old Atlanta Road?

If I lived in that development, I’m sure I would want the stop signs. But as a commuter, with the lack of enforcement at that spot, there may as well be yield signs there facing both ways on North Old Atlanta Road.

Only a small percentage of vehicles actually come to a full stop there.

It is not unusual to see vehicles just proceed without even slowing, even county police vehicles.
Some answers, please.
