Forsyth Central rising senior Ethan Hankins, one of the top pitching prospects for 2018 MLB Draft, has been chosen to play in the Under Armour All-American Game on July 29 at Wrigley Field in Chicago.

Hankins, a 6-foot-6 righthander, has a lively fastball that reaches the mid-90s, a tight curveball and a slim frame that shows room to grow. He was named the Forsyth County News Pitcher of the Year for this past spring, when had 77 strikeouts and just seven walks in 46 2/3 innings pitched and helped lead Forsyth Central to the Class 7A playoffs in the Bulldogs' first year in the classification.

Hankins, who is committed to Vanderbilt, has spent the past two days at the USA Baseball Tournament of Stars in Cary, N.C., an even that pulls in the best high school players from around the country and functions as a preliminary trial for the 18U national team. On Wednesday, Hankins threw three no-hit innings and had four strikeouts.

Earlier this month, Hankins competed in the Wilson Premier Championship East tournament, where he pitched for Team Elite, his local travel team. He threw five no-hit innings with 12 strikeouts in June 23, a performance that earned him the Most Outstanding Pitcher honor for the tournament.

Hankins also pitched in the Perfect Game National Showcase on June 19, where he had four strikeouts in two innings, including one of Triston Casas, one of the top position player prospects for the upcoming draft.
