What to know: Forsyth Central got the glimmer of hope last week it desperately needed. The Bulldogs snapped a five-game losing streak, their longest since 2010, thanks in part to finally being healthy. With all systems go, Central rolled past North Springs in a 56-14 victory in which a healthy Shaun Diebel showed what’s he capable of doing rushing for 80 yards and a touchdown, throwing an 80-yard touchdown pass and catching an 80-yard touchdown pass.
Central will have its hands full with a good Cambridge team that can smell a state playoff berth. The Bears are in second place in the sub-region just a half-game behind Riverwood. A win would also mark a tie for the Bears’ best finish in its four years of existence, all under head coach Craig Bennett.
The Bears will rely on the running ability of senior J.D. White, who has carried 93 times for 765 yards and scored 10 touchdowns on the ground so far this season. He averages 95 yards a game, while junior quarterback Cameron Moore has been contained in 44 carries, averaging just 1.7 yards per rush.
