What to know: Well, we know that Central can’t play like it did in a 7-0 victory against North Atlanta last week and expect to defeat Sprayberry. The Yellow Jackets are on a five-game winning streak and off to the school’s best start since 2009. Last week’s 31-7 victory against Cambridge was a statement-win. Running back Rakeem Myricks rushed for 95 yards and two touchdowns, Trey Sermon ran for a 22-yard score and linebacker Brandon Woods had two interceptions. Myricks gets to run behind 6-foot-5, 280-pound offensive lineman Bailey Sharp, a verbal commitment to Auburn. Plus, the Yellow Jackets have the added weapon of kicker Rodrigo Blankenship, who made a school-record 51-yard field goal against Cambridge.

Central escaped with the win against North Atlanta despite an underwhelming offensive performance. The Bulldogs finished with just 142 yards of offense, all on the ground. Central was undone by four fumbles and a missed field goal. But the defense turned in the program’s first shutout since 2011, led by linebacker Pierce Nufer’s three sacks. Ryan Hintz and Robbie Repasz each had an interception, and the Bulldogs held North Atlanta to just 94 yards of total offense. Central is allowing just 12.5 points a game, best in Forsyth County. The unit is sure to be tested by a Sprayberry team that averages 35.9 points a game.
