Kennesaw Mountain at Forsyth Central

When, where: Friday, 7:30 p.m. at Forsyth County Stadium in Cumming

Record, ranking: Kennesaw Mountain is 1-3 and unranked in Class 7A; Central is 3-0 and unranked in Class 7A

Series history: First meeting

Last meeting: N/A

What to know: The Bulldogs have not started 4-0 since that historic season under Bob Herndon in 1997, and they’ve only won four or more games seven times since then. They can achieve that milestone with a win over Kennesaw Mountain, a team that’s been in a rut for years with the highly successful Mount Paran Christian and North Cobb High School, a Class 7A power, seemingly squeezing the program of talent.

The Mustangs are coming off a 41-6 win last week, but don’t let the score fool you. The opponent, Osborne, is just a few years removed from not even playing region schedules because it wasn’t fair to the program. Outside of the gimme, KMHS did compete with Sprayberry and Hiram and fell by 24 points to Woodstock.

Central is riding high, but has too faced some lesser opponents in Meadowcreek and Duluth in recent weeks. KMHS should be their best test since Dawson County in Week 1—a game that never officially happened. Sabrian Howard has been playing at a bruising pace for Central with over 600 yards through three official games and 10 touchdowns.
