Forsyth Central baseball clinches spot in region title series

ATLANTA – Forsyth Central baseball clinched first place in Region 7-AAAAA, Div. B with an 8-4 victory against North Springs Monday on the road.

The Bulldogs (14-6, 13-3) will play Creekview (16-4, 14-4) next week – Monday, Wednesday and Friday – to decide the region champion and Nos. 1 and 2 seeds for the state playoffs. Central is already assured a first-round series at home.

Reed Clark got the win allowing no earned runs in three innings while striking out five, while Ethan Hawkins struck out four in two innings of relief.

Logan Howard led Central at the plate, hitting his third home run of the season and driving in two runs. Taylor Bauman had a double and two RBIs, while Robbie Repasz went 2-for-3 with two runs scored and a double.
