When, where: Tonight, 7:30 p.m., at Northview Stadium in Duluth.

Records, rankings: Central is 1-7 overall, 1-3 in Region 7-AAAAA, Div. A and unranked; Northview is 4-4, 2-2 and unranked.

Series history: Northview leads 1-0.

Last meeting: Northview won 40-33 in 2012.

What to know: Central is coming off its most complete performance of the season, albeit in a 21-17 loss to Creekview. The Bulldogs led 17-14 with just 1:20 left in the game before allowing Creekview to drive 80 yards in 11 plays for the game-winning touchdown. One thing is clear: Central has ditched the spread offense first-year coach Shane Williamson hoped to bring in and is relying on a traditional rushing offense. It worked against Creekview. The Bulldogs ran for 288 yards, led by Jake Gorczyca (24 car., 122 yards, touchdown) and Michael Branigan (15 car., 125 yards, touchdown).

Northview brings in the kind of spread attack Central hoped to employ this season. Titans quarterback D.J. Pearson has passed for 2,094 yards and 12 touchdowns this season. His favorite target has been Matt Biondich, who has 62 catches for 944 yards and eight touchdowns, but Connor Seagraves (33 rec., 409 yards) and Nathan Phillips (31 rec., 314 yards) also feature prominently in Northview’s passing attack. It’s been a big reason why Northview has its most wins since 2007 under fourth-year coach Chad Davenport.
