A walk-off hit by Grace Hurstich in the bottom of the seventh inning Wednesday broke a tie and gave Parkview a 4-3 win over Forsyth Central.

The loss eliminated Central (14-19) from playoff contention.

The Bulldogs jumped out to a 3-0 lead before ace Bailey McCachren even threw her first pitch, as Ansley Clark scored on a McCachren single, then Caraline Bryant hit an RBI single and Mattie Smith scored Kendall Maynard on an RBI groundout.

Central, which managed just three hits in Game 1, slugged 10 hits Wednesday against Parkview pitcher Maya Watson.

McCachren went 6 1/3 innings, giving up four runs — one earned — on four hits while striking out four and walking two.

McCachren also finished 2 for 2 at the plate, with one RBI. Clark and Emily Caron also finished with two hits.
