Lambert at Chattahoochee

When, where: Friday, 7:30 p.m. at The Arena in Alpharetta.

Records, rankings: Lambert is 7-1, 7-0 in Region 6-AAAAAA and unranked; Chattahoochee is 0-8, 0-7 and unranked.

Series history: Lambert leads 3-2.

Last meeting: Lambert won 20-9 in 2014.

What to know: Everything looks good for Lambert, which remains the lone undefeated team in Region 6. If the Longhorns take care of business against the winless Cougars tonight, two things can happen. If South Forsyth wins at Johns Creek, a Longhorn victory would ensure a region championship game next week against the War Eagles. If Lambert wins and South loses, the Longhorns will clinch the region title, regardless of whether or not they fall to South next week.

Lambert coach Louis Daniel immediately mentioned after last week’s emotional win over West Forsyth that his team had to be careful not to overlook the Cougars. Chattahoochee is scoring 26.6 points per game and has scored 39 and 40 at points in the year. Four of their losses are by less than 10 points.

The Longhorns will continue to rely on a running-back-by-committee approach. Last week they were already without Brian Wright and Harrison Pomfret at tailback, then Ken Dicks—back from injury—injured his wrist.
