Everything happened so quickly, but it went just the way Trey Logan had been hoping it could.
The Lambert senior infielder committed to play college baseball at Georgia within a week of getting an offer from the Bulldogs.
After visiting the Athens campus Monday, Logan gave new Bulldogs head coach Scott Stricklin his verbal commitment on Thursday.
Logan said he plans to officially sign during the early signing period in November.
"It’s something I’ve always wanted to do," Logan said. "It’s close to home, a great school, got a new coach, a guy who’s proven he can win. I like the direction this program’s going."
Logan was an honorable mention all-county selection last season when the Longhorns went 17-10 and reached the second round of the Class 6A tournament.
"God’s given me this opportunity to play in one of the best conferences in America," Logan said. "It’s something I’ve always wanted to do. It’s amazing."
