Chattahoochee at North Forsyth

When, where: Friday, 7:30 pm, at Raider Valley in Coal Mountain.

Records, rankings: Chattahoochee is 0-1 overall, 0-0 in Region 6-AAAAAA and unranked; North Forsyth is 0-1, 0-0 and unranked.

Series history: North leads 3-1.

Last meeting: North won 24-6 in 2013.

What to know: Chattahoochee lost every starter at the offensive skill positions from last year’s team, including quarterback Taz Wilson (2nd Team All-Region 6-AAAAAA), running back Chase Nelson (1st Team) and wide receivers Collin Lisa and Avery Ward, both 1st Team All-Region selections. Those defections were evident in the Cougars’ 42-7 loss to Cherokee on Aug. 22; ‘Hooch quarterbacks David Nicoletta and Chase Owens completed 9 of 18 passes for just 43 yards. Blake Hundley ran for 71 yards on 20 carries.

North ran in to Cherokee and quarterback Spencer Ashley last Friday and didn’t fare much better. Ashley piled up 302 total yards and five touchdowns (one rushing). North running back Jesus Torres ran for 70 yards and a touchdown and Logan Cross returned an interception for a score. With Region 6-AAAAAA looking wide-open early, North needs to take care of business at home.

"It really is almost a must-win game for us," North head coach Jason Galt said. "We’re not going to downplay that. We know it and our kids know that we need this."
