North Forsyth at Centennial

When, where: Friday, 7:30 p.m., at Centennial High Stadium in Roswell.

Records, rankings: North is 1-6, 1-5 in Region 6-AAAAAA and unranked; Centennial is 4-3, 4-2 and unranked.

Series history: Centennial leads 3-2.

Last meeting: Centennial won 27-3 in 2014.

What to know: North is still looking to eclipse its win total from last season, and it only has three more chances. It’s most likely the Raiders get that win against the other Raiders from the region when Habersham visits Raider Valley next week, but there’s no reason North can’t get that coveted second win tonight. North fell by just 3 points to Johns Creek last week and has clearly looked better against the Fulton County schools than its Forsyth counterparts.

However, Centennial is returning home hot. The Knights are in the midst of a four-game winning streak, though a tight 42-35 result against Habersham last week proves they might be vulnerable. They also struggled to best winless Chattahoochee, 48-40, at the genesis of the winning streak.

North’s Cody Dwyer told the FCN earlier in the week that the team has been upbeat in practices and fully expects to win the next three contests and finish the year 4-6. Much like last year, North has been slowed by injuries and had to make a number of mid-season adjustments, including evolving its passing game. Keep an eye out for new wrinkles in the next two weeks.
