What to know: North head coach Jason Galt said the Raiders’ win over Johns Creek two weeks ago was a monkey off his young team’s back. Galt’s team travels to Mt. Airy on Friday to face winless Habersham Central for a prime opportunity to get win No. 2. The Raiders in blue and orange were beaten 42-14 by Johns Creek last week and have lost their eight games by an average margin of 29.75 points. Quarterback Bennett Black completes 45.3 percent of his throws and has 1,166 yards, nine touchdowns and nine interceptions. Michael Babers, a sophomore running back, leads Habersham with 692 rushing yards and five touchdowns. On defense, junior Cody Patterson has 6 1/2 tackles for loss, and nine different players have combined for 10 sacks.

Jesus Torres has stepped up at running back for North—the speedy senior leads the Raiders with 294 rushing yards and two touchdowns. North averages just three yards per carry through eight games, though the Raiders have moved the ball with more consistency in recent weeks—thanks in part to cutting down on fumbles. Senior Colton Miller has been a bright spot for North on both sides of the ball. Miller leads the Raiders in receiving (173 yards) and interceptions (two) and is second in tackles with 47.

Maxwell projection: North Forsyth by 7.
