North Forsyth swimming wins Not So Quad meet

North Forsyth won 14 events to claim the 2015 Not So Quad Meet on Saturday at the Cumming Aquatic Center.

The Raiders had 525 points, edging South Forsyth (479). Forsyth Central (309), Pinecrest Academy (247) and Providence Christian (61) rounded out the field.

North boys finished first with 280 points behind nine first-place finishes. Alejandro Garcia won the 50 and 100 free, Jack Dalmolin won the 100 breaststroke and 200 IM, Gabe Brisuda won the 200 free, Tony Scheyer won the 50 free, Owen Wickman won the 100 butterfly and the Raiders relay teams won the 200 medley, 200 freestyle and 400 freestyle.

Logan Belt led Central with victories in the 100 back and 500 free, while Micah Gilliam won the boys 1-meter dive with 281.7 points.

The South girls edged North thanks in part to victories in the 200 medley, 200 free and 400 free relays. Bayley Frierson added wins in the 200 and 500 free.

Rachel Sullivan led the Lady Raiders with wins in the 50 free and 100 fly. Kelsey Robins won the 100 free, Nicole Sullivan won the 100 back and Emily Carroll won the 100 breaststroke.

Central’s Macie Winter won the 1-meter dive with a score of 227.3.

In all, 26 athletes or relay teams hit state-meet qualifying times.
