Pitcher of the Year

Anthony DiMola, Jr., North Forsyth

Georgia Southern commit took a big step forward as a junior, using pinpoint control and a big curveball to record a 1.41 ERA with 84 strikeouts and just 18 walks in 64 2/3 innings.

Player of the Year

Wyatt Crowell, Jr., West Forsyth

Florida State commit – as a pitcher – was hampered by elbow issues throughout the season, but he had a massive spring at the plate in the mean time, hitting .414 with a .512 OBP and slugging .621 while playing a solid left field.

Coach of the Year

David Smart, Denmark

Smart lived up to his sterling reputation among coaching peers, guiding the first-year Danes program to a Class 4A state finals appearance as a No. 4 playoff seed.

First team

SP – Mitchell Gross, Sr., Forsyth Central

Santa Fe College signee showed wicked swing-and-miss stuff, striking out 68 in 45 innings pitched with a 1.40 ERA. Also hit .333 with a .461 OBP and four home runs.

SP – Patrick O’Rourke, Sr., Pinecrest Academy

Berry College signee was a workhorse for the Paladins, with a 1.54 ERA and just nine walks in 68 innings pitched. Threw complete games in his last seven starts of the season.

SP – Jacob Ryan, Sr., Forsyth Central

Georgia Highlands signee had a 2.78 ERA with 73 strikeouts and 13 walks in 55 1/3 innings.

RP – Drew Clare, Fr., Denmark

Promising freshman was a big part of the Danes’ playoff run, compiling a 1.69 ERA with 22 hits allowed in 29 innings.

INF – Garrett Staton, Jr., North Forsyth

Hit .354 with nine doubles, a triple and two home runs, compiling a .956 OPS.

INF – Caleb Bohn, Jr., Pinecrest Academy

Two-sport standout got a late start to the season after the Paladins’ playoff run in basketball but was immediately dominant, hitting .462 with four home runs and a .596 OBP.

INF – Tyler Cowan, Sr., South Forsyth

Georgia Highlands signee hit .354 with six home runs, racking up a .598 slugging percentage.

INF – Jack Kream, Jr., Denmark

Hit .365 with a .526 slugging percentage and 14 extra-base hits. Also had a 2.46 ERA in 25 2/3 innings mainly out of the bullpen.

INF – Garrett Hollenbeck, Jr., Lambert

Excellent defensive catcher hit .311 with nine doubles, three home runs and a .421 OBP.

OF – Matthew Cassandra, Jr., Denmark

Hit .369 with 18 doubles, three triples and six home runs, totaling a 1.157 OPS. Also threw 26 1/3 innings as both a starter and reliever, compiling a 3.72 ERA and allowing 24 hits.

OF – Miles Hartsfield, Jr., North Forsyth

Hit .288 with 16 walks, 12 doubles and three home runs. Led the team with 16 walks.

OF – Trevor Bryk, Jr., Denmark

Hit .351 with a .622 slugging percentage. Provided multiple clutch home runs during the Danes’ playoff run.

UTL – Landon Sims, Sr., South Forsyth

Mississippi State signee was the War Eagles’ best hitter, hitting .367 with five home runs and a .479 OBP, and their ace, with a 2.14 ERA and 66 strikeouts in 43 1/3 innings.

Second team

SP – Dalton Hansard, Jr., Denmark

Durable, reliable starter had a 2.90 ERA in 79 2/3 innings.

SP – Brody Westbrooks, Sr., North Forsyth

Georgia Tech signee had a 2.88 ERA with 61 strikeouts and 15 walks in 51 innings.

SP – Braden Bamburowski, So., Lambert

Three-sport athlete had a 3.56 ERA with 38 strikeouts in 37 1/3 innings.

RP – Ryan Gamble, Jr., Forsyth Central

Versatile arm had a 1.69 ERA with 15 hits allowed and 24 strikeouts in 20 2/3 innings.

INF – A.J. Fiechter, So., Forsyth Central

Solid defensive shortstop hit .337 with a .446 OBP and eight walks to six strikeouts.

INF – Colby Wheeler, Sr., South Forsyth

Hit .340 with five doubles and three home runs.

INF – Jonathan Hemings, Sr., Lambert

Hit .345 with four home runs and a .466 OBP.

INF – Jay Sorohan, Jr., Pinecrest Academy

Kennesaw State commit and defensive standout at shortstop hit .325 with a .486 OBP and 24 steals for the Paladins.

INF – Greg Tasos, Sr., Forsyth Central

Hit .330 with six doubles and a .404 OBP.

OF – Mason Carter, Jr., Pinecrest Academy

Hit .395 with a .473 OBP, five triples and 20 steals.

Hit .339 with eight doubles and a .429 OBP.

Hit .288 with eight doubles, a triple and two home runs and led the team with 18 steals.
