Basketball: South Forsyth rolls behind McGlockton's 16 points

South Forsyth halted a six-game losing streak Tuesday with a 58-43 win against North Forsyth.

Junior Devin McGlockton led the War Eagles with 16 points, seven rebounds and three blocks, while senior Grady Arant had 10 points and three rebounds. 

Senior Cory Seitz finished with 18 points to lead the Raiders.

South Forsyth (13-9, 3-4 Region 5-7A) faces a tough task at 7:30 p.m. Friday when the War Eagles host region-leading Milton, while North Forsyth (6-16, 1-6 Region 5-7A) will host Forsyth Central at the same time. 

Denmark 76, Flowery Branch 40

Denmark kept rolling Tuesday, using a 76-40 win against Flowery Branch to pick up its seventh win in eight games.

Junior Joseph Scott led the Danes with 17 points, including two 3-pointers, adding three rebounds and three assists. Junior Sutton Smith finished with 12 points, senior Adonnis Tolbert had 10, senior Michael Dougherty chipped in eight, sophomore Robert Cowherd had seven, sophomore Kourtland Tolbert added five and Maksim Vinogradov finished with six.

Pinecrest Academy 58, Fellowship Christian 41

Pinecrest Academy swept the season series with Fellowship Christian on Tuesday with a 58-41 win.

The Paladins previously topped Fellowship Christian, 68-46, on Dec. 21.

Pinecrest (12-9, 8-5 Region 6-1A Private) will travel to Mt. Bethel at 7:30 p.m. Saturday.


North Forsyth 65, South Forsyth 37

North Forsyth pushed its winning streak to 13 Tuesday, topping South Forsyth 65-37.

Caroline Martin and Ansley Allen combined for 38 points, with Martin scoring 21 points and Allen finishing with 17.

The Raiders (20-2, 6-1 Region 5-7A) will host Forsyth Central at 6 p.m. Friday, while the War Eagles (15-7, 3-4 Region 5-7A) host Milton at the same time.
