Five county girls lacrosse players selected to 6-7A All-State team

Five Forsyth County girls lacrosse players were selected for the Class 6-7A All-State team, which was announced on Wednesday.

West Forsyth sophomore attacker Cami Merkel earned first team honors, the only Forsyth player to do so. She currently has 148 points on the season, a West record, with 94 goals and 54 assists.

Lambert midfielder Gabby DiVirgilio earned second team honors, along with West’s Bella Steigerwalt on defense. West attack Maddie Houlberg and South Forsyth goalkeeper Kayla Casey were honorable mentions.
