Horizon Christian at Johnson Ferry

When, where: Friday, 7:30 p.m., at Sprayberry High Stadium in Marietta.

Records, rankings: Horizon is 6-1, 2-0 in GICAA II, Region I; Johnson Ferry is 3-1, 2-0.

Series history: Johnson Ferry leads 1-0.

Last meeting: Johnson Ferry won 56-6 in 2014.

What to know: This is a big one for head coach Charles Wiggins and crew. The Warriors are riding high at 6-1, thanks to the dominant arm and leadership of quarterback Jacob Grinstead, but to improve by one more game in the win column will mean to knock off an opponent that won at Horizon by 50 last season.

Grinstead is coming off being named the North Georgia Touchdown Club offensive player of the week for Week 2 of the season. He’s had a game where his only throws went for touchdowns. Needless to say, the Warriors are efficient and in a groove on offense.

In the four-game win streak Horizon is on they’ve put up 35, 50, 24 and 41 points. They’re also coming off a shutout against Cornerstone Prep Academy. Johnson Ferry has outscored its opponents 150-45 this year, but is coming off a loss last week to the Georgia Force (not the former Arena Football team).
