Northview at Lambert
When, where: Friday, 7:30 p.m., at The Horn in Suwanee.
Records, rankings: Northview is 3-3 overall, 2-3 in Region 6-AAAAAA and unranked; Lambert is 5-1, 5-0 and unranked.
Series history: Lambert leads 2-1.
Last meeting: Lambert won 3-0 in 2014.
What to know: Northview was 3-1, and another coach in Forsyth County called them “maybe the best team in the region,” heading into the night of Sept. 25. That was the evening the Titans hosted West Forsyth, eventually falling 28-7. Two weeks later they hosted South Forsyth—the War Eagles won 41-7.
If Northview is going to break its slide it will have to do it against a Lambert team that has found success, but hasn’t won as pretty as its other county counterparts. Last week the Longhorns had to dust off five turnovers, four of which came from starting quarterback Richie Kenney, in a 21-7 win over a Habersham Central team that had been dominated by its competition to that point.
If Lambert can protect the football it can capitalize off a turnover-prone quarterback group from Northview. Brian Wright still looks like a good go-to option for the Longhorns. The junior running back is averaging 11.7 yards per carry to lead the team. Lambert should also continue to benefit from a healthy Tanner Hall, who had nine catches for 113 yards last week.
