Forsyth County had an impressive weekend of golf.
Three teams won their respective events, including the North Forsyth boys and Lambert and South Forsyth girls’ teams, and they did it in a variety of formats.
North won the Best Ball Challenge hosted by Buford High School. Teams paired up golfers who each played their own golf balls but counted the lower score on every hole. The Raiders won with a score of 217 thanks to a 68 by Jackson Boone and Drew Nizialek, a 71 by Nick Lasseter and Griffin Orzech and a 78 by Christian McManus and Matthew Workman.
South finished second with a 200, while Lambert placed
fourth and West fifth.
Lambert won the Dalton Lady Cat Invitational in a
traditional formatted event. Kate Owens led the way as the event’s low medalist
with a 71, while Rachel Burrell shot 78 and Morgan Boutwell shot 84 to give the
Longhorns a 233, two shots ahead of runner-up Bremen.
The South girls team, meanwhile, won the Brookwood Invitational in a four-player scramble event with a score of 63 by Samantha Bearden, Lindsey Cho, Paige Janis and Kelly Strickland.
