PREP ROUNDUP: Central girls earn first region win, beat Milton 52-29

Forsyth Central started region play well Tuesday night, taking a 52-29 win over Milton to improve to 8-1 overall and 1-0 in Region 5-7A. 

Aisha Dabo led the Bulldogs with 21 points in the victory.

The Bulldogs will host West Forsyth at 6 p.m. Friday for Domecoming. 


Denmark 68, Buford 49

Denmark knocked off last year's Class 5A champions on Tuesday, topping Buford 68-49 to pick up its fifth win in six games. 

Robert Cowherd finished his night with a double-double with 13 points and 12 rebounds, as did Sutton Smith with 10 points and 10 assists. Joseph Scott led the Danes in scoring with 18 points, while also tacking on six boards. Ze'Vian Capers and Adonnis Tolbert had 11 and 10 points, respectively.

The Danes (8-2, 2-0 Region 7-4A) led the Wolves 35-20 at halftime and will host Flowery Branch at 8:30 p.m. Friday.

Hebron Christian 93, Pinecrest 91, 3OT

Pinecrest came up on the receiving end of a triple-overtime heartbreaker on the road against Hebron Christian on Tuesday, falling 93-91. 

Oscar Lynch led the Paladins with 28 points, while JJ Hayes and Caleb Bohn finished with 19 each. Tony Carpio ended his night with 13 points.

Pinecrest (5-4, 2-1 Region 6-1A Private) will travel to Walker at 4:30 p.m. Saturday in a region tilt. 

Milton 82, Forsyth Central 61

Forsyth Central behind early against the Eagles and couldn't make up ground, ultimately falling 82-61 to drop to 5-5 overall and 0-1 in Region 5-7A.

The Bulldogs will host West Forsyth at 7:30 p.m. Friday for Domecoming.
