PREP ROUNDUP: Central baseball beats Milton again; Lambert boys lacrosse stays perfect

Denmark 6, Cherokee Bluff 3

The Danes improved to 7-12 overall with their Thursday win over the Bears on Thursday. Gray Wilson led Denmark at the plate with his 3-for-3 performance, bringing in one run and scoring one. Smaran Ramanathan allowed one earned run over his four innings of work, earning the win.

Forsyth Central 3, Milton 1

The Bulldogs secured a critical win over Region 5-7A leader Milton on Friday night, scoring three unanswered runs over three innings to pave the way for the victory. Mitchell Gross went 1-for-1 with two RBIs, while Jacob Ryan brought another in. Ryan also came through on the mound, allowing just three hits over his six innings of work. Central improved its region record to 7-3 with the win.

Pinecrest Academy 15, Landmark Christian 2

The Paladins took a mercy rule shortened win on Friday, defeating the Eagles in five innings. Pinecrest scored eight of their runs in the second inning. Caleb Bohn and Connor Ensman each tallied two hits and four RBIs.


South Forsyth 2, North Forsyth 0

The War Eagles improved to 5-4 in Region 5-7A with their win over the Raiders on Thursday. North fell to 1-7 with the loss.

Denmark 8, White County 1

The Danes wrapped up their Region 7-4A slate at 1-5 with a blowout win against the Warriors on Thursday. Georgie Manoj led Denmark with a hat trick, while Jonathan Kobby and Andres Herrada scored two each. Blade Power netted one goal for the Danes.

Pinecrest Academy 2, Cherokee Bluff 2

The Paladins and Bears played to a draw on Thursday night, leaving Pinecrest with an 8-4-1 record on the year.

Pinecrest’s girls took an easy win against the Bears on Thursday, improving to 8-4-1 overall.


West Forsyth 11, Cambridge 5

The Wolverines took a Thursday win over the Bears to improve their overall record to 8-5 overall.

Lambert 12, Centennial 5

In a rematch of their 2018 state semifinal matchup, the Longhorns defeated the Knights handily on Friday night to improve their perfect record to 12-0.

North Forsyth 11, Fletcher (Fla.) 9

The Raiders evened their overall record to 6-6 with a victory over the out-of-state Senators on Friday. Chris Smith led North with four goals, while Dane Tyler scored three. Jaiden Prosser and Jackson LaVangie each scored two.


Forsyth Central 18, North Springs 2

Central’s girls cruised to a road win against the Spartans on Wednesday, moving to 5-6 overall.

Vero Beach (Fla.) 11, West Forsyth 10

The Wolverines traveled to Florida to play a very good Vero Beach team on Thursday and took a close loss, just their second of the season. West now stands at 7-2-2 on the season.

North Oconee 18, Pinecrest Academy 8

The Paladins lost at home to the Titans on Friday night, dropping to 1-7 overall.
