GIRLS BASKETBALL

Kell 65, Forsyth Central 32

MARIETTA – The Lady Bulldogs got off to a rough start in a Region 7-AAAAA, Div. B loss Tuesday on the road.

Central (11-14, 9-3) fell behind 22-4 after the first quarter and never recovered.

The loss cost the Lady Bulldogs first place in the sub-region heading into the region tournament.

Lambert 51, Habersham Central 39

Ashley Johnson had 11 points and the Lady Longhorns earned a Region 6-AAAAAA victory Tuesday at home.

M.E. Craven added eight points for Lambert (13-11, 8-9).

North Forsyth 52, Johns Creek 45

JOHNS CREEK – Caroline Bowns had 28 points and the Lady Raiders edged the Lady Gladiators for a Region 6-AAAAAA victory Tuesday on the road.

North improved to 21-3 overall and 15-2 in the region.

Pinecrest Academy 68, Galloway 28

Regina Metz scored 24 points and the Lady Paladins cruised to a Region 6-A, Div. B victory Tuesday at home.

Margaret Metz added 14 points for Pinecrest (16-8, 7-4).

BOYS BASKETBALL

Kell 43, Forsyth Central 38

MARIETTA – The Bulldogs fell short of an upset Tuesday in a Region 7-AAAAA, Div. B loss on the road.

Central dropped to 6-19 overall and 3-9 in the region, but it was a far better performance for the Bulldogs than their 66-42 loss to the Longhorns on Jan. 13.

Lambert 73, Habersham Central 70

Ross Morkem had a double-double with 29 points and 14 rebounds to help the Longhorns edge the Raiders for a Region 6-AAAAAA victory Tuesday at home.

Tanner Hall added 27 points for Lambert (19-5, 14-3).

North Forsyth 67, Johns Creek 53

JOHNS CREEK – Nick Cunningham had 21 points to lead the Raiders to an upset of the Gladiators on Tuesday on the road.

Dakota Holtzclaw added 18 points for North (10-14, 7-10), while Chad Bureau scored 17 points.

Pinecrest Academy 88, Galloway 67

John Crone had a record-setting performance to lead the Paladins to a Region 6-A, Div. B victory Tuesday at home.

Crone scored a game-high 31 points that included eight 3-pointers, a school record for the most in a single game.

Ryan McCarthy added 19 points for Pinecrest (10-14, 5-7), while Nick Palmer scored 17 points.
